Uplift Series
I began painting the Uplift series in April 2020, amidst the uncertainty and heaviness of the Covid-19 lockdown. I chose birds in flight as my subject because they evoke the sense of lightness and possibility that so many people were missing. It began with one painting and has since grown into a series that continues to evolve. Recently I have been painting egrets during their grand, dramatic moments of liftoff into flight.
